I lighted the stove under the pressure cooker with the kitchen lighter. Noticing the small amount of gas left in the container, I went to the far counter and took out the refill from the cabinet above. Placing the lighter on the marble shelf, I inserted the nozzle of the liquid gas refill into that of the lighter's container. The pressurized gas went into the container with its specific hissing sound. But at the same moment a spring fell on the floor followed by the refill's nozzle. Never had this happened before. I picked up both the things. Tried to fix them comparing with the new spare refill from the cabinet. Alas! They wouldn't fit in together. Tried again and again but to no avail. The meal on the stove by now had started making crackling sounds. It needed water or it would get burnt and stick to the pot. With both the refill and the lighter in my hands, I made my way to the stove. I added some water in the cooker and continued my fight to get things right. I tried once again. The gas would come out with its specific hissing sound yet the spring and the nozzle won't go inside together. I knew they had come out from the refill bottle as the lighter was intact. Then suddenly... an explosion of fire. I stood baffled at what had happened. Mere a few inches away from it. The liquid butane diffused in the air from the refill bottle and caught fire from the stove burning near.*
The last words before death: La illaha illallah Muhammadur Rasoolullah
Death by burning… a death of Shahadah.
The two thoughts which came to me after I regained my senses. Reciting the Kalimah? I was so shocked, my mind busy in analyzing the situation; how could I have recited the Kalimah???
Death of shahadah by burning?** It's so very painful. All your skin along with the millions of pain receptors wherever they are located are burnt and hence disabled.
Naturally, my thoughts turned to Shaheed Junaid Jamshed. The death of shahadah.
1   In the path of Allah
2   By being burnt
3   Away from home
He's a Hukmi Shaheed  in these three ways. SubhanAllah! Masha'Allah! What a noble death in an honorable way. Indeed, he was 'The Chosen One'. Jannat Guaranteed! Insha'Allah.
It's the sixth day since his shahadah. Evening time. I'm so glad for him. The place he's in. Away from all the enmity, hatred, prejudice and evil intentions of his enemies. Close to His Mercy. With his wife and so many other wonderful people around him, (Insha'Allah).
Honestly, I never knew myself, how deep a bond I had with him. Deep, unseen bond. The feeling of loss is there. But this sadness mixed gladness is the new change within me. The recent change. Allah has given me sabr. Alhamdulillah! What a contrast between the person I am now and the desperately crying one then. When one of my friends had tried to console me I was angry at her consoling words. How can I forget so easily? She has no heart, etc. etc. But now, I am so very happy for him. And Insha'Allah I aspire to become as excellent a person as he was, by His Help and Grace.
We need to spread his message of deen and his good akhlaq by practicing them.
May Allah accept me in His way also, as a Shaheed and be pleased with me, Aameen.
Surah No. 2, Al Baqarah, Ayat No. 154
وَلاَ تَقُولُواْ لِمَنْ يُقْتَلُ فِي سَبيلِ اللّهِ أَمْوَاتٌ بَلْ أَحْيَاء وَلَكِن لاَّ تَشْعُرُونَ
 Translation:
Those who are killed in the cause of Allah: Do not call them dead." In fact ! they are living, though you can not perceive that life.
Surah No. 3, Aal e Imran, Ayat No. 157
Translation:
And if you are killed or die in the cause of Allah, forgiveness and mercy from Allah are far better than all that they could amass (of worldly wealth).
Surah No. 3, Aal e Imran, Ayat No. 169
Translation:
Do not think of those who are killed in Allah's cause as dead. Nay! They are alive, and they are given sustenance from their Sustainer.
*Now, after nearly five hours, I realize why the fire didn't harm me. One, obviously, due to Dua-e-Hazrat Abu Darda رضی اللہ عنہ that I recite every morning. Second, due to the prayers of all of you. (Jazakallah, The Truth Family)
**Though, there are many types of death that fall under the category of Hukmi Shahadah. Those who die like that will be treated as Shuhada in Aakhirah Insha'Allah. Still, we have been told to ask for His Mercy and Aafiyat all the time and seek refuge from accidental death, death by burning, drowning, falling from heights, coming under some weight (like a fallen building) etc.
